Faucet and Facet

Although the words contain different vowel sounds, faucet and facet are beginning to be confused in writing as in these examples from the web:

faucet: /faw-sit/: a fixture for drawing a liquid from a pipe, cask, or other vessel

facet: /f?-sit/: a. Originally: one of the small cut and polished faces of a diamond or other gem. In later use also: a flat, usually smooth, face or surface of any object. Figuratively: A particular side or aspect of something.
